ASC 740 provision automation
Make the tax provision more repeatable, review-ready, and easier to scale. This is the workflow our pilot partners use.
Tax provision automation + custom tax workflows
Polaris helps regional CPA firms and in-house tax teams prepare reviewable tax provisions with less manual work. We are currently onboarding a small number of controlled pilot partners, drawing on CPA firm and in-house tax experience.
Led by Eva Haakenson. CPA firm and in-house experience across international tax, tax provision, and compliance.
A 90-day guided pilot for up to three provision projects.
What Polaris does
Make the tax provision more repeatable, review-ready, and easier to scale. This is the workflow our pilot partners use.
For teams with adjacent needs: data preparation, workpaper workflows, account mapping, and review controls, tailored to how your team works.
Put AI to work where it genuinely reduces manual effort and review time, and stay honest about where it doesn’t belong.
Who it’s for
You prepare provisions for clients and want to move faster without giving up review quality. Polaris standardizes the preparation so your team spends time on judgment, not formatting.
You own the provision without a dedicated specialist to spare. Polaris adds structure and senior perspective to the preparation, so it’s faster to produce and easier to stand behind.
About
Polaris was founded by Eva Haakenson, a tax professional with nearly 20 years of CPA firm and in-house experience across international tax, tax provision, and tax compliance. She has prepared and reviewed provisions from multiple perspectives, which is why Polaris is designed to be practical, reviewable, and grounded in the way tax teams actually work.
The idea is simple: pair professional tax judgment with practical automation, so the provision stops being a fire drill and becomes a repeatable, review-ready process.
Help in-house tax teams and regional CPA firms produce the tax provision with less manual work and more confidence.
Now onboarding pilot partners
Polaris is opening two 90-day guided pilots for CPA firms, with room for an in-house tax team as well. Each pilot covers up to three provision projects, with hands-on setup and mapping support, linked Excel workpapers, a review memo, and joint review of the outputs before broader rollout.
FAQ
The guided pilot runs for 90 days and covers up to three provision projects. We begin with your existing process and approved inputs, support setup and mapping, generate linked Excel workpapers and a review memo, and close with a joint review.
No. Polaris can support teams with varying provision capacity, but it does not replace the people responsible for input completeness, technical positions, review, and ASC 740 sign-off. Those responsibilities stay with your team and advisors.
No. Polaris improves the process, data, and documentation that feed your existing advisors and audit, which tends to make their work smoother, not redundant.
We take confidentiality seriously. Before any work begins, we document how pilot data is handled and agree the appropriate confidentiality and access controls. You always know what data is used and why.
No. The point is to cut the manual preparation so the same people spend more time on review, judgment, and planning. Polaris supports your team, it doesn’t replace them.
That’s a fine place to start. A short conversation will tell us whether the provision is where we can help right now, or whether it isn’t the right time yet.
